Pool fence privacy
Quebec requires a 1.2 m fence around a residential pool, and the fence that passes inspection is see-through. We add the privacy the regulation never asked for, without touching what makes it compliant.
Almost every pool fence in Quebec is the same black ornamental aluminum, because that is what satisfies the Règlement sur la sécurité des piscines résidentielles: at least 1.2 m high, no footholds a child can climb, self-closing and self-latching gate. It passes. It also means the most private thing you own, your backyard with a pool in it, is on display to every neighbour and everyone walking past.
This is the job we built the product around. The panels go behind the pickets of the fence that already passed, so nothing that made it compliant changes: same height, same posts, same gate hardware, same latch, no new footholds, because a flat panel behind the bars gives a child nothing to climb the way a horizontal rail or lattice would. What changes is that the sightline stops at the fence. If your pool fence runs along a driveway or a neighbour's window, that is usually the section people start with, and there is no rule saying you have to do the whole perimeter at once.

- They are designed not to: same height, same posts, same self-closing gate and latch, and a flat panel behind the pickets adds no foothold. We do not alter the enclosure itself.
- Can I do only the section facing my neighbour?
- Yes, and most people do. It is priced by bay, so start with the sightline that bothers you and add sections later.
- Will pool chemicals or splashing damage the panel?
- No. Aluminum composite is the material used for outdoor signage; chlorinated splash, rain, and road salt do not rot or rust it the way they attack wood or steel.
- Do you take the panels down for winter?
- No, they stay up year round. We leave the bottom of the pickets open so snowmelt and debris clear instead of packing against a solid wall.
